Huawei's RF Engineers help ensure new wireless deployments satisfy all RF coverage requirements and help tune installed equipment for maximum effectiveness. The selected candidate will be responsible for RF Design, configuration, implementation, and troubleshooting of multiple product type (UMTS, CDMA, LTE, WiMax) telecommunications networks and associated communications environments under minimal supervision, including assembly and testing of telecommunications hardware.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs, Builds, tests and maintains telecommunications components, products and associated services
Sets up, maintains and ensures integrity of telecommunications operations and equipment including assembly of network hardware
Installs and tests customer telecommunications products in customer networks per manufacturer’s specifications and customer’s requirements
Develops comprehensive test plans and performs advanced hardware and functional testing on multiple product lines in an in-service environment
Performs power and grounding installations, multiple product type power verification and equipment power-up
Upgrades telecommunications components as required
Responds to customer telecommunications needs and questions in areas of responsibility and ensures work quality, schedule and cost adherence
Performs telecommunications troubleshooting to isolate and diagnose all types of telecommunications problems
Completes equipment commissioning performance results
Provides customers with telecommunications technical support including problem escalation resolution
Maintains comprehensive project plans and provides customer and management with job status information
Creates and delivers telecommunications systems monitoring and performance reports

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Certifications/Licensures:
Minimum: Associate’s degree in electronics or equivalent education and experience. Valid Driver’s License

Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering

Relevant Work Experience:
Minimum: 5 years progressively complex telecommunications experience focused on RF design and testing with commensurate knowledge of electronic troubleshooting, installation and commissioning of equipment.

Radio Frequency Experience:
RF Test Tech: – Basic knowledge of signal flow and the major components of the Huawei radio product line. Capable of installing, as well as initial turn up and testing of RF Plans. Knowledge of common Data, Ethernet, DS1E1, DS3/E3, OC3/STN-1 radio interfaces, muxes power systems, timing systems, alarm systems, etc. – no live traffic. Basic troubleshooting skills including continuity and BER testing.

RF Test Specialist: Has knowledge of Huawei Test & Turn-up procedures, plus an advanced level of troubleshooting skills. Knowledge of Huawei Radio product line, as well as RF branching design theories. Completely aware of live traffic issues and their consequences. Capable of adding new equipment to existing live microwave systems. Able to read and understand equipment drawings. Note: An ACMTS must be able to perform most tasks without the aid of certified personnel with a higher level of certification.

RF Test Expert: Top level troubleshooting skills along with extensive knowledge of Huawei microwave product line. Should have an understanding of IP networking, routing protocols such as SMTP, OSPF, and RIP as well as theories used with the radios. The candidate should have extensive knowledge of microwave path and RF branching design knowledge. Capable to perform capacity upgrades, software upgrades, space diversity upgrades, frequency re-tunes, circuit cutovers and path alignments. Also should have experience working with R&D personnel on low level software debug. An Expert must be able to act as a professional liaison to customer.

Preferred: 6 years related telecommunications experience.

Additional Skills (Technical or General):
Minimum: Technical Knowledge/ Skills: Intermediate understanding and use of established safety practices; intermediate ability to read and interpret customer documentation, specifications, prints and drawings; advanced ability to perform a series of procedural steps, detect and resolve errors; advanced knowledge of use of tools and equipment; advanced ability to perform power verification on installed and/or existing network hardware, advanced hardware testing and functional testing on multiple customer products.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift/carry materials up to a maximum of 50lbs, move about the site, turn on and operate a computer in the applicable environment, communicate efficiently and effectively on the telephone or in person, and complete required paperwork. May be required to travel up to 100% of time and work shifts. Subject to long, irregular hours. Requires extended periods of crawling, climbing, bending, pulling, working in tight places, walking and standing, up to 100% of a workday.
