Seeking CEO for an early-stage, VC-backed software+services startup in NY--prefer experience in US immigrant community, especially Spanish skills.

We are a 6-person early-stage company. We are the premium provider of immigration solutions that make the filing of standard immigration forms simple, safe and affordable. The Company very recently raised
a round of financing from some leading venture capitalists and
has a well-connected Board and Advisory Board. The Founder and Chairman is one of the US’s top experts in our industry.
The CEO will have primary responsibility for managing company
operations, the overall growth strategy, organizational leadership,
financial and organizational management, external communications, sales
and marketing, distribution, and channel management. The CEO will
report to the Chairman and to the other members of the Board of
Directors.

Given the size of the company, we emphasize this is a hands-on,
roll-up-your-sleeves role. If you’re a hands-off manager, or if you
plan to allocate more than 0.1% of your time to speaking at conferences,
then you’re not a good fit for this job.

Focus during the first 12 months:
Recruit 4-12 members to our team.
Develop and lead execution of sales and marketing plan.
Create and model an appropriate vision, long-term strategy and company culture.
Develop relationships with angel investors and venture capitalists; raise another round.

Overall responsibilities:
Establish, achieve and report on milestones to the company’s Board of Directors.
Establish and implement short and long term goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
Develop a comprehensive business plan, including a product roadmap.
Oversee operating plan, budgets, cash flow and overall company finances.
Build and lead an effective and cohesive executive management team.
Build and motivate a world-class sales & marketing team.
Responsible for all elements of sales compensation - tools, planning,
organization and structure.
Close deals with industry partners.
Ensure that operating objectives and standards of performance are not only understood but owned by management and employees.
Ensure that the company and its businesses comply with all applicable industry best practices.

Requirements:
3+ years experience leading companies or business units selling web-based software solutions.
3+ years experience in product management.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, management, problem solving, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent C-level oral and written communication skills.
Track record of building creative and collaborative teams.
Willing to both lead at high level and be hands on as needed.
New York location (would also consider Washington, DC).

We strongly prefer:
Experienced entrepreneur who has taken a startup from Series A all the way to an exit.
Background in selling and marketing local services (e.g. local tax preparation services) is very valuable.
Personal background living in and selling to a major immigrant community (particularly the Hispanic American community). Belief in the Edward Tufte school of communication
Fluency in a second language (prefer Spanish).
