Market Risk Coverage for Credit Portfolio Group and DCU for a senior associate based in New York, overseeing risk for CIBs counterparty exposure as well as the retained loan portfolio.
Responsibilities would include scenario analysis and stress testing; deep dives and ad-hoc analyses; improving risk transparency with enhanced reporting; working with trading, middle office, technology and quantitative research to validate and improve the quality of risk representation; and monitoring and enforcing limits.
Additional responsibilities include active participation in risk meetings and risk calls with market risk, trading, senior management and regulators.
Bachelors degree required
Minimum of 2 years of financial services experience, ideally in a trading role
Strong written and spoken communication skills. Must be able to converse with a wide variety of groups
Superior Excel skills. Must have ability to learn how to use core business and risk systems. Familiarity with VBA and Access/SQL a plus
Ability to work independently with limited supervision. Must be able to make clear recommendations & conclusions
Strong sense of accountability and ownership of responsibilities, must be diligent, self-motivated and good at following up on issues
Strong analytical skills; must be competent with numbers and able to challenge concepts/proposals. Sound understanding of basic quantitative concepts relating to risk sensitivity, P&L explain, VaR and stress testing
Ability to multi-task, work well under pressure with commitment to deliver under tight deadlines
