Graduation from high school or the equivalent
One year of clerical experience
Type at 40 net wpm
Be sensitive to and understand the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students
Under general supervision, to perform a variety of clerical duties involving several specific routines and broadly defined policies and procedures; and to do related work as required.
Performs a variety of clerical and typing work
Types a variety of materials from marginal notes, rough draft, or verbal instructions
Compiles information from various sources and types on a variety of forms
Reviews documents for accuracy, completeness, and conformance to established procedures
Compiles and tabulates statistical data
May serve as receptionist for students, faculty, and the general public
Answers inquiries and gives out information concerning standards, procedures, and programs
Classifies and posts information and keeps a variety of records
Operates standard office machines
May receive and issue receipts for monies
May open and distribute mail
Child Development Center Program: The CDC provides child care for the children of college students, support services for the family, and is the primary training facility for early childhood educators for Merced County. The CDC provides a quality educational child care program that serves 150 children from six months to five years of age. The program operates each day of the college calendar from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Funding for the CDC is provided from categorical funding and grants. Income eligible students attending Merced College can receive subsidized childcare. Our goal is to provide excellence in childcare in an enriched learning environment for college students.
