EMERGENCY SERVICES CLINICAL SUPERVISOR

The Clinical Nurse Supervisor is accountable for unit and Service Line performance by directing all the activities associated with patient care delivery, operations, staff development and supervision. The Clinical Supervisor, working in conjunction with the unit manager and/or director, actively drives the unit specific plan and operations. The primary responsibility of the Clinical Supervisor is to develop action plans throughout entire shift to ensure unit is in alignment with TJC/CMS/CDPH requirements, NPSGs, nursing sensitive outcomes, unit(s) specific productivity standards, culture of a safe work environment and positive patient outcomes. Functions collaboratively and uses the Decision Making Process to provide high quality care by assuring appropriate staffing on a shift basis or more frequently as indicated by patient acuity, stability, census and staff competence. Responsible for providing clinical nursing leadership to unit staff and may provide direct patient care.
Requirements: Minimum 4 years current registered nursing experience in an acute care environment required, with 2 years supervisory (Charge, Supervisor, Manager, Lead, etc) experience. Certification required in specialty area within 1 year of notification of requirement . Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) required. Current LAC-MICN required. ACLS required at time of hire. TNCC, Management of Assaultive Behavior (MAB), PALS, and ENPC required within 90 days of hire and maintained thereafter. Eight (8) hours of pediatric specific education required annually. AHA BLS required.
