Certified Nursing Assistant performs participant care activities and other tasks as assigned to assist the primary care, therapy, and adult day health staff. Works under the direct supervision of the Center Manager or designee but is independent in the application of nursing assistant knowledge and skills. Documents treatments/procedures, observations, nursing care, and participant activities on appropriate forms and in the medical record as appropriate. Clean facility equipment & maintain clean facility conditions and report on participant status or family concerns to the Center Manager or Home Care Coordinator (HCC).
High school education or G.E.D required. Requires the ability to lift 75 pounds and frequently lift/carry 50 pounds as the position requires lots of physical activity. Successful completion of a Nursing Assistant Certification course required, Valid MI driver’s license and CPR certification. Must hold current Nursing Assistant Certification in the state of Michigan. A minimum of six months prior nurse assistant, personal care aide or certified nurse assistant experience and one year of experience with a frail or elderly population
