Must be capable of performing some or all of the following:
Program/Machine parts from raw stock to finish.
Prepare parts/assemblies for subsequent operations and/or rework parts/assemblies as required.
Proficiency to setup and operate vertical/turret mills, lathes, drill presses, and other related machine shop equipment.
Proficiency at bench and layout work (tapping, deburring, drilling from layout, finishing and measurements).
Ability to select tools, as needed. Select proper speeds and feeds for optimum tool performance.
Ability to perform shop math, use tables, charts, and manuals, and make simple tooling and fixtures.
Must have working knowledge of commonly used metals and plastics.
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English, including technical terms and concepts.
Maintain clean, orderly and safe work area.
Understand and perform machine/equipment Total Productive Maintenance (TPM)
Perform any other duties that may be assigned. Maintain machinery and tooling.
High School diploma or equivalent and/or completion of machinist apprenticeship.
Some experience as close tolerance machinist
2-3 years of CNC experience
Fanuc controllers, up to 5 axis preferred but not required
Some experience as toolmaker, prototype/R & D machinist preferred but not required.
Welding/Brazing certifications preferred but not required.
QDI training and qualification preferred but not required.
CMM Training preferred but not required
Preferred: Swiss Style Machine Experience
