Ryerson Inc., one of the leading distributors of metals in the US, is currently seeking a CNC Programmer to join our warehouse team in Norcross, GA. Primary responsibility is to provide all programming support for fabricated part on all processing equipment to achieve the most efficient production schedule, plate usage and production efficiency as possible. Successful candidate will utilize existing CNC programming as well as AutoCAD software to interpret customer supplied drawings and sketches.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Generate machine language to convert customer supplied piece part documents into finished parts
• Create 3D drawings to meet customer requirements
• Program parts for processing on all equipment: plate cutting (Oxy Fuel, plasma, laser), machining, piece finishing
• Create piece part super nests to improve material utilization
• Adjustments to drawings based on customer need, equipment downtime, etc
• Conflict resolution with customers and suppliers
• Customer satisfaction management of Quality with a 98% on-time delivery requirement
• Develop proficiency in various machine codes to communicate with a wide range of CNC machine controllers
• Daily compliance with job work instructions
• Identification and implementation of continuous improvements in all work processes
• Learn new technologies and equipment as they become available to facility
• Point person on new equipment, potential trainer for new operators, contact point with equipment vendors
• Some engineering duties to include, but not limited to, component design and fab, machinery maintenance schedule creation (working with the Maint Supv), process observation and resolution
• Troubleshoot processes and machinery to come up with viable solutions to issues, work in a continuous improvement/5S mindset
• Other duties as assigned

Position Requirements

• Associate's degree
• 1-3 years experience in a programming position
• Sigmanest/AutoCAD software experience
• MS Office software skills such as Outlook, Word and Excel
• Problem solving skills
• Root cause analysis skills with corrective action follow-up
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage changing priorities and multiple tasks
• Track record of self-motivated, results-orientated team player, customer focused

• Ability to utilize the whole team and get along with location staff
• Ability to work with operators to resolve production and machine related issues
• Ability to multi-task when all projects are high priority
