Position Purpose

Safely produce quality product in a timely manner while following all related procedures and work instructions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the set up and operation of modern CNC Equipment.

Knowledge/Abilities
  • Performs tasks related to the safe operation of a CNC machine in a fast paced metal fabrication facility
  • Uses production software systems to track products in the production process
  • Uses quality measuring tools to verify product conformity (i.e. micrometers, calipers, optical comparator, microscope, video measuring equipment and CMM)
  • Monitors process using quality tools to ensure conformance of products, including following work instructions, prints and other documents
  • Maintains customer quality control records and charts
  • Learns process and product terminology
  • Follows scheduled maintenance plans for all equipment
  • Execute lock out/tag out procedures as required
  • Follows all safety rules
  • Understands and complies with applicable company policies (i.e. attendance, ethics, safety, etc.)
  • Maintains records as required by QMS

  • Works effectively with immediate supervisor to identify and resolve productivity issues

  • Reads and interprets blueprints to plan setup and operation of machines
  • Reports all maintenance problems to supervisor for prompt attention
  • Report any safety issues to supervisor
  • Works with others as required in a team based work environment

  • Follows daily production schedule to meet internal and external customer requirements

Part III – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities for Position

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or general education (GED) preferred
  • Two years manufacturing experience and/or training preferred
  • Must possess excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and problem solving skills utilizing them to interact with others in a positive manner
  • 5 years experience in metal cutting preferred
Other Qualifications
  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Self starter, able to work independently
  • Ability to speak effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers and decimals
  • Ability to used a calculator with trig functions

  • Previous experience using manufacturing software a plus
Certifications
Physical Demands

Candidates are required to regularly use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, control, etc. Requirements include close visual inspection, whether with the naked eye or aided with magnifying instruments such as a microscope. Must be able to lift up between 45 and 70 pounds on occasion. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, pull, and push. This job requires standing on your feet 100% of the time.
