Role:

Continuous Improvement Specialist

Georgia Pacific Chemicals is a performance chemical company focused on manufacturing products for the building products, paper making, industrial, and agricultural application businesses. We currently have a vacancy in our Continuous Improvement Specialist position at our Taylorsville, MS facility.

Responsibilities:

The CIS (Continuous Improvement Specialist) is responsible for the facility’s continuous improvement program encompassing all raw materials, finished products, analytical testing equipment, charging systems and product storage parameters contributing to long term value of our products and services.

This position is also responsible for PMI (Product Manufacturing Instructions) maintenance, approval and modifications as necessary, including preproduction control plans, reactor simulations, and post production reviews.

Responsibilities include analyzing, performing and monitoring the root cause analysis relating to process variation events.

The position also provides overall guidance and management direction for the environmental responsibility tasks, focusing on 10,000% regulatory compliance at all times.

This individual will supervise the operations of the Quality Control group with 8-9 direct reports.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 2 year minimum of industrial/ manufacturing-related experience
  • Bachelors of Science degree required

Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of experience in a PSM covered facility
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities:
  • Strong technical troubleshooting
  • Familiarity with Quality Lab practices/techniques
  • Environmental compliance/ regulations knowledge
  • Microsoft Office, PI, and MSC applications experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills
