Makes and administers the contractual commitments for commercial aircraft and related products, data, and services provided by the company. Develops, negotiates, and documents the terms and conditions of business and legal arrangements and manages risks assumed in support of company objectives. Participates in, leads, and coordinates team relationships that lead to a thorough understanding of customers and their requirements, effective long-term customer relationships, customer satisfaction through the meeting of commitments, and continuous improvement of contractual processes.

Apply Contracts skills (e.g., prepare, negotiate, execute, administer proposals and agreements) to provide commercial aircraft customers with aircraft, products, data, and services to maintain business objectives. Knowledge of company products, services, policies, and procedures. Knowledge of contracting, negotiation, finance, law, engineering principles and government regulations as they apply to company products, services and procedures. Knowledge of business development principles and techniques. Knowledge of business management processes and techniques.

Become a trusted advisor who oversees contract negotiations, pricing, and related contract compliance needs of Spirit AeroSystems. Appropriately balance internal and external interests across the organization in a manner that meets both short and long term interests of the organization. This position will provide business and strategic negotiation perspective and advice on a wide range of strategic, tactical and operational issues including: *
  • Represents the company in dealings with customers, and key stakeholders *
  • Negotiation of contract obligations, including pricing *
  • Risk evaluation, coordination with Tax and Legal departments to mitigate contractual risks *
  • Foster collaboration among team members while providing guidance to other functional areas *
  • Ensure negotiations and business practices of the organization are performed in accordance with regulatory requirements and ethical practices *
  • Oversees adherence to the contract provision and administers in the spirit which it was negotiated
  • 2+ years of extensive contract administration in aerospace; pre-award through closeout *
  • Proven skill in the areas of project management, change management, influencing, negotiation, collaboration, self-direction *
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to effectively interact with internal and external customers *
  • Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills *
  • Diplomacy skills *
  • Strategic thinking and execution *
  • Prefer global experience and perspective *
  • Ability and willingness to work in a fast paced environment *
  • Adept at dealing with difficult / challenging situations with strong problem solving abilities *
  • Proficient with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) *
  • Experience working cross functionally with internal/external groups, customers and various programs *
  • Knowledge of Government FAR regulations, contracting requirements and experience working with Government contracts is preferred *
  • SAP experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability including orientation to action, courage to innovate, and excellent follow-through skills. Understands how to think several moves ahead to position for the future. Knows when to trade off items of less important strategic value for the sake of the long term win.
