Description of position

This position performs the tasks necessary to analyze, design, configure, implement and support Kronos Workforce Central applications (Scheduling, Time & Attendance, and Labor Analytics) installed at Costco. Position will require working closely with Costco IT, Business Stakeholders and Vendors to develop and implement solutions as part of ongoing package lifecycle support and maintenance. Position will require working with project teams to ensure upgrades and major enhancements have been well planned limiting impact to end users and providing an ever robust suite of solutions used by our Operations and Payroll areas.

Ideal candidate for this position has ability to learn technical concepts fast plus ability to coordinate vendor and other IT groups to implement and upgrade software packages. Support of COTS packages requires a good understanding of the underlying Infrastructure, Databases, O/S, Virtualization or Cloud based systems concepts. COTS Analyst is expected to provide a high level of end-user support.

Tasks and responsibilities
  • Responsible for troubleshooting, support and maintenance of installed solutions
  • Function as technical advisor for projects and major upgrades
  • Participate in planning, design and solution development with Costco IT, Stakeholders and Vendors
  • Provide mentoring and support to both project and area team members
  • Perform system health checks and optimization of assigned packages
  • Develop understanding and working relationship with other IT areas providing support for assigned packages
  • Develop understanding of WIMS, SDM, Source Version Control and Kronos Reports
  • Ability to understand a supported process end-to-end and analyze impacts of system changes to this process
  • Provide troubleshooting documentation for 1 st level support teams to assist them with resolving customer issues
  • Provide status reports, project schedules and other necessary documentation in support of assigned packages
  • Perform annual review of vendor / solution provider and provide recommendations for improvement

Required skills, abilities, and certifications
  • Ability to provide assistance with design, maintenance and continual improvements for assigned packages
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation of complex technical information
  • Ability to interact effectively with internal clients, team members, vendors and all levels of management
  • Possess proven ability to manage vendor engagements with successful outcome
  • Ability to learn and adapt new technologies, operating systems, applications to Costco environment
  • Proven ability to prioritize and meet assigned deadlines
  • Must be available to work occasional nights and weekends and perform on-call support as required

Recommended skills, abilities, and certifications
  • Three or more years experience providing lifecycle support for 3 rd party packages
  • Experience with Kronos Workforce Central software suite, v6 preferred
  • Prior experience with HR and/or Payroll package
  • Prior experience developing labor standards for retail environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Must have strong analytical, problem solving skills
  • Proven ability to work independently or as a member of a team
  • Experience and willingness to teach/ mentor others
  • Experience coordinating package upgrades, patches, releases with other areas
