The successful candidate will be part of a small team responsible for testing COTS applications, custom software, and satellite specific data products in an integrated environment. Applications are hosted on Windows, Solaris, and Linux platforms. Primary responsibilities include preparing and executing formal acceptance tests, as well as evaluating software maintenance changes to include collaborating with development personnel on unit and integration testing. That collaboration will feed into determining appropriate validation and regression tests to execute. Daily test status will also be required during test periods. Supporting the on-site sustainment team with user acceptance testing and problem diagnosis is a secondary responsibility. Knowledge of, and adherence to software CM practices is crucial to consistency across multiple systems.
The ideal candidate should possess a BS degree in Physical Sciences, Engineering, or Mathematics. Course work in orbital mechanics, satellite orbit modeling, parameter estimation and control theory is a plus. Candidate must be self-motivated and capable of working independently and with others. Candidate must be able to articulate technical concepts orally and in written forms. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. U.S. citizenship is required.
