CRITICAL CARE EDUCATOR/CNS THIS POSITION WILL REQUIRE APPLICANTS TO BE A PART TIME EDUCATOR AND PART TIME BED SIDE NURSE.
Under general direction, plans, organizes, directs, conducts, and evaluates critical care education programs; assist in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating the overall critical care education programs of the PHH, Inc.; and performs other related duties as required.
The Critical Care Educator/Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) is responsible to provide expert nursing education in the area of Critical Care. The major areas of focus are clinical practice, consultation, education and research. Primary responsibility is direct application of clinical expertise to patients and families through mentoring of staff in the clinical setting. The CNS has responsibility for the quality of standards of nursing care for all critical care patients at PHH, Inc.
This one-position class works under the Chief Nursing Officer and is assigned full responsibility for all critical care education programs. The Critical Care Educator/Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) must utilize independent judgment and considerable initiative in implementing the clinical education and activities. Supervision received by the incumbent is typically limited to departmental policy guidelines and declared objectives of the critical care education program.
Masters Degree in Nursing, Education or Clinical Nurse Specialist
Minimum of three (3) years experience in Critical Care, with emphasis on Cardiac and Cardiovascular systems.
Experience in providing and conducting clinical education programs in a hospital setting.
In depth knowledge in critical care is required as evidenced by educational achievement and experience.
Licensure and Certifications
1. Must possess and maintain a current valid license as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.

*Organize and conduct meetings and training sessions.
*Work and deal effectively with staff, officials, community leaders and others.
*Classify and categorize health education materials including books, periodicals, pamphlets, brochures, reports, and visual aids. Additional Information
