Responsible for: · Provides technical support and pertinent information to plants, licensees, joint ventures, customers and other engineering groups. · Participates in troubleshooting investigations and corrective action of electrical-related problems using hand tools and test equipment. · Assists in the maintenance of technology improvements in electrical engineering. · Assists in preparing designs, PLC programs, bills of materials, spare parts lists, and specifications and overseeing the preparation of drawings for the installation or modification of control systems, power distribution, and lighting. · Assists in preparing electrical check-out procedures and participates in check-out and acceptance of equipment and systems. · Works with outside vendors used in the design of control, power distribution, and support and service systems. · Works with on-site electrical contractors and supplies technical assistance in the installation, check-out, and start-up of control, power distribution, and support and service systems.
Requirements: · Sophomore or Junior in the CSU engineering program with an emphasis in electrical engineering. Must have approval from academic advisor. Must be able to begin rotation in January, 2013. · Ability to perform mathematical calculations. · Ability to functionally use a computer. · Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills. · Must be able to handle sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner. · Work under supervision/or follow specific detailed instructions following established procedures. · Ability to apply standard evaluation, selection, and adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. · Solid verbal and written communication skills.
