Responsibilities: · Provides technical support and pertinent information to plants, licensees, joint ventures, customers and other engineering groups. · Participates in troubleshooting investigations and corrective action of container and closure product and product-related equipment. · Assists in investigating, developing, and implementing closure container-related cost improvements in material usage, operating practices and equipment utilization. · Examines the cost of materials and processes with a goal of increasing quality and reducing overall manufacturing costs through evolutionary development programs. · Assists in coordinating and participates in project implementation, installation, check-out, tune-up, and start-up of new equipment. · Develops and reviews equipment specifications and recommends criteria to manufacturing. · Performs proper acceptance inspections of new equipment. · Assists in providing liaison and technical support to other disciplines of production engineering and other departments. · Updates product, tooling, metal and packaging specifications and designs and disseminates this information.
Requirements: · Sophomore or Junior in the CSU engineering program with an emphasis in mechanical engineering. · Ability to perform mathematical calculations. · Ability to functionally use a computer. · Must maintain professional competence, ethical integrity, knowledge, and skills. · Must be able to handle sensitive and proprietary information in a confidential manner. · Work under supervision/or follow specific detailed instructions following established procedures. · Ability to apply standard evaluation, selection, and adaptation and modification of standard engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria. · Solid verbal and written communication skills.
