As a cross-team position within the Health & Mental Health and Early Childhood teams at the National Center for Children in Poverty, Mailman School of Public Health, Columbia University, the Short-term Casual (Research Support - Non-Technical) will be responsible for research support activities.

Responsibilities will include: data collection, entry and coding for New York City Project LAUNCH and the RAD evaluation project under the direction of the Director, Health & Mental Health. Performs related duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications for Grade
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in education, training and/or experience, in the social sciences, public policy or a related field, plus more than 1 year of experience or the equivalent in graduate level education, training, and/or experience in public health required.

Spanish language proficiency is required (ability to conduct interviews in Spanish).

Experience conducting data collection (such as administrative surveys, conducting in-person interviews and collecting consent forms) is required.

The candidate selected for this position is required to undergo a background check prior to a final offer of employment being made.

Additional Position-Specific Minimum Qualifications
Applicant MUST meet these minimum qualifications to be considered an applicant

Experience using qualitative software (i.e., MAXQDA).

Strong research, writing and interpersonal skills, as well as demonstrated proficiency with MS Word, Excel, e-mail and calendar.

Must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively.
