Columbia Memorial Hospital, located in beautiful and historic Astoria, Oregon, is looking for a strong team player with an emphasis to detail to work as our Oncology/Cardiac Procedures RN. The Oncology/Cardiac Procedures RN provides Infusion services including chemotherapy service to the oncology patients by assessing, planning, directing, evaluating, and performing skills related to care. Possesses the skills and judgment to act quickly, knowledgeably, and appropriately in any situation that may occur. Performs special cardiac procedures including treadmills, EKG’s, stress treadmills, conscious sedation for TEE’s, in the hospital or Cardiology Clinic as required. Provides specialized teaching as required. Coordinates all services necessary for the care of assigned patients including education, administration of medication, treatments etc. Administers medication as ordered through vascular access devices such as central lines, port a caths, PICC lines, etc. Maintains certifications and skills necessary to perform duties connected with patient care including chemotherapy administration, ACLS, conscious sedation, EKG’s and treadmills. Assists physicians with procedures on the unit as appropriate and administers infusion services as ordered. Potential cross training to Same Day Surgery to provide back up support as needed.

Registered Nurse currently licensed by Oregon State Board of Nursing. Current BLS, ACLS and biotherapy certification. Must possess one certification upon hire and remainder within six months of hire. A thorough knowledge of nursing principles and procedures; knowledge and skills in techniques of good patient care whether medical or surgical, including multiple monitoring techniques. Demonstrates proficient computer skills. Must be flexible as needs arise and possess willingness to acquire new skills and adapt to a changing environment. Must possess assessment skills for all age groups. Must be certified in chemotherapy administration and be familiar with chemotherapy “OCN” standards, practices, and recommendations. Must be able to read and write English, as well as speak and understand English. Must be able to operate office machines, as well as medical related equipment.
Status : Full Time (72-80 hours per pay period)

Salary Range : ONA PT/FT
Overtime Work Rule : 40 hour work week
