The Category Analyst will w ork collaboratively with the Category Manager (“CM”) and VP Category Management, supporting the corporate team with deductive data analysis, dissecting category and sales trends, and utilizing consumer insights to effectively grow sales for Pinnacle Foods Dry Grocery brands. The individual will develop weekly and monthly syndicated data and customer POS reports, support new item sell-in and gap-fill presentations, and aid in the development of executable customer selling strategies, especially as it relates to shelving, merchandising, assortment, and retail pricing (SMART) objectives.



Includes the following; other duties may be assigned. ¨

Develop and maintain weekly/monthly management reports recapping syndicated and customer POS sales trends. ¨

Utilize Spectra, IRI scan, household panel, national shopper card insights, market research findings, JDA Space Management, and other consumer centric data tools to build selling stories and uncover regional /market-level opportunities for our brands both on an everyday and seasonal basis. ¨

Support the Category Manager in providing pre and post promotional analysis for events to include selling highlights, opportunities, price point effectiveness and recommendations for improvement going forward. ¨

Provide analysis and recaps that determine the effectiveness of price reductions and other promotional strategies for the brands. ¨

Develop ad hoc reports and presentations as necessary to support the ongoing development of the Dry Grocery business.

Bachelors Degree in Marketing or Business required.


Experience within packaging/consumer products industry preferred. ¨

1-2 years minimum experience as an Analyst in the packaged goods industry.


Experience with customers POS data interchange ¨

Proficient in Microsoft Word, Power Point and Excel. ¨

Working knowledge of Spectra and syndicated scan and panel data ¨

Detail oriented, organized, reliable and resourceful professional with practical experience and understanding of category management, sales and/or trade marketing processes. ¨

Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize under pressure.
