The Category Manager is responsible for managing a specific category within the International Wholesale channel. Responsibilities include managing category development, category sales within the territories and category brand growth in order to meet the Tory Burch expansion requirements. This includes day-to-day collaboration with the account management team and internal cross functional departments to ensure that all objectives are met.

Responsibilities:

Category Strategy

Execute product strategy by class

Identify product knowledge gaps, work with product training to create education materials

Have a perspective on local trends and competitive intelligence to help shape category strategy

Understand areas of opportunity for category within and across territories and take action to capitalize on the opportunities

Link visual strategy with product assortments and initiatives

Partner with planning around basic assortment management

Process creation and improvement related to category

Sales Analysis & Reporting

Manage top line financials (with planner)

Conduct weekly/monthly sales reviews

Conduct monthly business review

Create hindsight materials

Leverage data and reports to identify themes and make recommendations to grow the business

Manage Market for Category

Hold walkthrough

Manage market sell in

Leverage resources to ensure market logistics and showroom visual is managed

Evaluate open to buy to make sure on par to plan

Attend meetings with accounts related to category

Define business agenda for market activities related to category

Review buy-in to suggestions across accounts and provide feedback to accounts as needed

Coordination with Merchandising and Production

Partner with Merchandising in line development review and call out voids

Partner with Merchandising in assortment editing for department

Manager assortment editing for key markets

On-going communications with merchandising around production issues (i.e. delays, shorts, etc…) and communication to account management

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES NOT COVERED IN FOCUS AREAS

Foster a strong sense of leadership and teamwork both internally and externally

Manage development of the Category Associate, International

Ad-hoc jobs or company tasks could be added

Qualifications:

EDUCATION, PRIOR EXPERIENCE

Bachelor degree with 5+ years of experience in merchandising and/or planning jobs within fashion industry

Advanced PC skills particularly in Excel, and better in Access, Essbase, Power Point . Knowledge in RLM, SAP, JDA, Arthur also preferred
