Under the Direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, the OR/OB Tech is responsible for providing surgical scrub assistance. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Act as First Assist combination role for all cases performed in the Second floor OR, dependent on individual experiences
Support and provide services to the Labor and Delivery, Post Partum/Pedi and Newborn Nursery patients as directed by the charge nurse
Establish/evaluate PAR level for supplies in the OR
Stock, clean & maintain instruments for the unit
Terminally clean the OR's on unit on a daily basis following hospital policy
Job Qualifications include:
Graduate of a formal surgical technologist program or equivalent training.
Certification as a Surgical Technologist required. New graduates must obtain certification within 6 months of graduation.
Healthcare Provider BLS certification required.
Detail-oriented with ability to sustain concentration over long periods of time.
Customer service abilities including effective listening skills.
Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving, lifting of patients and/or equipment up to 50 pounds
