CERTIFIED OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY ASSISANT (COTA): Implements all Occupational Therapy services for residents of the Therapy Department under the supervision of the OTR, or Director of Rehab. These services include but are not limited to: screening, structured assessment, treatment, documentation, program development, orthotic fabrication, provision of inservices and attendance at meetings

REPORTS TO: OTR, Director of Rehab

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES : Volunteers, aides and students

SKILL AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS (MINIMUM):

EDUCATION:

· Certification by the American Occupational Therapy Association

EXPERIENCE:

· Experience in a Long Term Care Facility

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY:

· Must be able to read, write and speak the English language

· Communication skills which may be inclusive of approach, tone of voice, speed of communication, respectfulness and non verbal communication.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

· Long periods of standing, walking, lifting if necessary
