Provides professional nursing service by administering anesthesia to surgery patients. Prepares and administers anesthetic agents to surgical and obstetric patients to reversibly depress bodily functions, or otherwise desensitize a patient to permit the performance of medical or surgical procedures.

Flexibility required (weekday/weekend/holidays) ? various shifts:
8 hour: 7 am - 3 pm
10 hour: 7 am ? 5 pm
12 hour: 7 am ? 7 pm or 7 pm ? 7 am
24 hour: 7 am ? 7 am
Primary responsibilities include:
- Prepares and administers anesthetic agents to patients in order to desensitize them to permit the performance of medical or surgical procedures.
- Performs pre-anesthesia evaluation of the patient in order to ascertain physiological and psychological factors which influence the selection of anesthetic agent and the formulation of the plan of anesthetic management. Place labor epidurals and monitor patients.
- Monitors the patient in the operating room in order to maintain the patients in a homeostatic condition and to assure that unnecessary injuries are not inflicted on the patient.
- Records anesthetic information on the anesthesia chart to provide a permanent record necessary for the care of the patient, to provide material for teaching, for study, and to establish a medical-legal record.
Bachelor's Degree in Nursing plus graduate of a school of nurse anesthesia accredited by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetist (AANA). Current registered nursing licensure in the State of Texas. American Association of Nurse Anesthetist certification (AANA). ACLS certification
