DESCRIPTION

Responsible for Individual Education Plan development for children assigned to his/her supervision. Supervises other support staff assigned to her/him. Shall oversee the instruction of children in activities designed to promote social, physical, and intellectual growth needed for primary school in preschool, day care center, or other child development facility by performing the following duties.

Looking for a dependable, energetic individual to work with clients and their families with special needs.

1 full-time position is available.

Hours: Monday - Friday.

Location: Little Rock, AR.

DUTIES

Understand learning styles and develop/apply practical working knowledge.

Establish/maintain standards of pupil behavior to achieve and effective learning atmosphere.

Develops lesson plans, instructional material and provides individualized/small group instruction to adapt to curriculum to the students needs.

Translates lesson plans into developmentally appropriate learning experiences.

Utilizes current technology to enhance instructional opportunities within the learning environment, record-keeping and research.

Applies knowledge of current research and theory into classroom instruction enhancing the program to provide better assistance to the students.

Facilitates, monitors and assess students learning through evaluations to monitor progress and social growth. Keeping appropriate records, progress notes, reports and correspondence.

Identifies student's needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops strategies for individual education plans.

Create and maintain a learning environment in which all students are actively engaged and contributing members.

Maintain a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate in the maturity and interest of each student.

Maintain all student records and any other pertinent information daily.

Supervise all off campus events with students.

Maintain a professional attitude at all times while maintaining loyalty to the program/organization.

Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences.

Provide necessary documentation in accordance with state requirements to the director.

Maintain appropriate communication with staff, students and families at all times, while maintaining an open, warm and very professional relationship. Working to build a partnership with parents, families and the community.

Observes/honors confidentiality of students, parents and programs when communicating with others.

Conduct parent - teacher conferences as needed with full team participation at all meetings.

Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Graduate degree (M.B.A., M.A., etc), plus 2 years related experience and/or training, and 2 years related management experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Must possess master in teaching degree and current Arkansas Special Education Teachers License (P4) or State License in an appropriate field. Current CEU training certificates. Understand learning styles and develop/apply practical working knowledge.
