Stony Brook University, home to many highly ranked graduate research programs, is located 60 miles from New York City on Long Island's scenic North Shore. Faculty Position

Department: Anesthesiology

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Required Qualifications: MD or MD/PhD degree. Board Certified in Anesthesiology and eligible for or have a license to practice medicine in New York State. Prior experience in a leadership position. Must be eligible for a senior faculty appointment in accordance with the criteria established by the School of medicine for appointment, promotion, and tenure ( School of Medicine's Criteria for Appointment, Promotion and Tenure ).
Preferred Qualifications: Strong academic credentials evidenced by a track record of successful extramural funding and scholarly accomplishments; a training track record that documents a commitment to medical educations and mentoring of new faculty and fellows; experience with the management of a complex clinical practice within a medical center setting and in the oversight of clinical, educational, and research budgets; possess the ability to establish effective operational practices that create an environment that supports the missions of the Department. Demonstrate the highest level of ethical conduct and a commitment to diversity; possess a track record of recruiting and retaining outstanding clinical, educational, and research (basic and translational) faculty; strong interpersonal and communication skills; a demonstrated ability to provide leadership within a complex organization; demonstrated experience in budgetary and personnel management.

Responsibilities & Requirements: The Department Chair has overall responsibility for advancing the clinical, educational, and research missions of the Department.
