Night Shift: 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.; paid a flat rate.

Day Shift: Only occasionally day shifts (7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.) available for PRN; paid hourly rate.

JOB SUMMARY:
In accordance with the philosophy and mission of Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa, the Contingent Chaplain ministers to the spiritual needs of patients, families, visitors and staff within the local Member Organization, Trinity Health of Novi, MI. The Chaplain participates in team ministry, professionally, confidentially and holistically, with other members of the Ministry Organization, Trinity Health of Novi, MI using her/his talents and gifts to touch the living, human Body of Christ.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor''s degree in an appropriate field (e.g., theology, spiritual care) and/or formal evidence of equivalent; sound foundation in theology. Ecclesiastical Endorsement required as a spiritual care minister by the appropriate official church agency to which s/he belongs, and provide proof every three years. Must have Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) units as required by employment status through the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE) or the National Association of Catholic Chaplains (NACC). Demonstrates a compassionate commitment to work maturely with persons who are sick, suffering, aging and dying. Committed to promoting holistic health, spirituality and wellness in the wider community system through education. Appreciates the diversity of religion and spirituality of patients and possesses ability to work with and respects the patients'' value systems to provide appropriate care. Fits into the culture of the Spiritual Care team per Mission and Ethics Leader and Staff Chaplains'' assessments.
