UNION COLLEGE DEPARTMENT OF CHEMISTRY invites applications for a non-tenure-track faculty position (Lecturer/Instrumentation Specialist) beginning in Fall 2014. The candidate is expected to have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a closely related field, significant breadth of experience with chemical instrumentation, and the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching. Teaching responsibilities will be principally in laboratory courses in introductory chemistry, organic chemistry, and chemical instrumentation. Co-curricular responsibilities include maintenance of the department’s instrumentation for teaching and research, training of faculty members and students in the use of instrumentation, and working with other faculty members to develop new instrumentation-based experiments for laboratory courses. The initial appointment will be for a three-year period with the possibility of renewal.
