The Chief Engineer, Industrial Compressors will re-establish the responsiveness of the support coming from the function for the following areas: Design Reviews, Field Problem Resolution, Addressing Safety Issues, Support of Sales & Marketing, R&D and R&T Program Leadership, Support of the Supply Chain in Cost Reduction, Lead Time and Capacity Improvements.
Additional accountabilities include:
Provide direction and prioritize compressor Product Development by establishing product and process needs, creating and leading programs, and contributing to development process as needed
Lead design reviews of Production Design, R&T and R&D activities associated with centrifugal compressor products
Provide technical product support to internal and external customers including Turbomachinery Design, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, New Unit and ESOL Sales & Marketing, Repair and Overhaul, and Field Technical Support.
Final Design Authority on all aspects of the centrifugal compressors throughout their life cycle
Provide technical leadership to ensure the RR Gas Compressors maintain a competitive and leading position in the marketplace
Identify technology acquisition needs that relate to gas compression technology
Identify, attract, develop, coach and retain engineering talent in the field of gas compression technology in general and centrifugal compressor aerodynamics in particular

Qualifications and experience
Bachelor's of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical Sciences
10+ years experience in centrifugal compressor aerodynamic, rotordynamic and mechanical design
Master's of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Technical Sciences
15+ years experience in centrifugal compressor aerodynamic, rotordynamic and mechanical design
Experience in centrifugal compressor selection and performance analysis
Teamwork, decision making, customer focus, comfort in front of technical experts in the field of centrifugal compressors, presentation skills.
