The Chief Service Engineer role on US Helicopter Engines is responsible for leading an Engineering for Services team that ensures the safe and disruption free operation of in-service products and systems on behalf of the Chief Engineer and Chief of Service Engineering - Defence.
This includes the provision of technical direction and supervision of Service Engineers, the investigation into in-service events, the provision of technical information to field service reps, operators, and OEMs on service-related issues, the definition of field control actions, the issue of Service Bulletins and Technical Variances, the approval of the technical content of technical publications and the identification of service-related product improvements.
Operate within the company safety procedures to investigate, resolve and close significant safety related field events in accordance with the Rolls-Royce Safety Management System
Provide the technical leadership of core engine and controls/accessories related Service Engineering activities
Services tasking priority
Liaise with engineering to define and implement programs of work and corrective actions necessary to maintain continued safe operation of the product
Identify the need for design changes in response to field issues as necessary and communicate them to engineering via the established product change process
Proactively support improving engine and component reliability, utilising maintenance data and trend monitoring where available and appropriate
Support engineering in the communication of the status of service investigations via technical briefings both internally and to OEM customers, operators and airworthiness authorities
Ensure the accuracy of the technical content of Technical Variances, Service Bulletins and the published Technical Manuals
Develop the Services engineering strategy for the US Helicopter Engine portfolio and power-by-the-hour business model

Qualifications and experience
Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and 10+ years gas turbine experience
