Under supervision of a Foster Care Unit Supervisor, provides casework and supportive services to foster families, including home visits.
Participates in Foster Parent activities and events (i.e., training events, foster parent group meetings and recognition events).
Ensures foster families are in compliance with recommended usage, keeps supervisors informed of foster home vacancies and works cooperatively with Placement Coordinators to identify possible match of foster parent with a child needing foster home placement.
Ensures records are current and in compliance with ODJFS and agency standards.
Completes dictation and daily activity logs to reflect services provided.
Monitors foster parent training attendance on quarterly intervals and completes annual training needs assessments on foster parents.
Completes state recertifications, closures and transfers within given time frames.
Completes an annual evaluation of foster homes.
Identifies, evaluates and develops plans to reduce placement disruptions.
Completes and/or assists with rules violations investigations and corrective action plans as indicated.
Ensures foster homes are in compliance with ODJFS and agency rules, regulations and policies.
Develops and/or maintains constructive relationships with other agencies involved with children and families.
Performs required record keeping functions and required paperwork; prepares written assessment reports and related documentation as required; attends staff meetings, case conferences, workshops, in-service training sessions and meetings.
Prepares monthly statistical reports; processes foster parent day care and mileage reimbursement forms.
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Class Requirements:
CWC2: CWC 2 - Masters in Social Work or related field. Preference given to candidates with field placements or volunteer experience involving casework responsibility with families and children
BA/BS in Social Work or related field and at least two (2) years of related experience preferably in Child Welfare.
CWC3: Masters Degree in Social Work or closely related field with two (2) years experience including Child Welfare, Mental Health, or Family Services or Bachelors Degree in Social Work or closely related field with five (5) years experience including Child Welfare, Mental Health, or Family Services
Training & Development:
