Work involves assisting the County Engineer in technical and administrative duties and the direct supervisory activities in reviewing and assigning the work of assigned Engineering Aides and Assistants, including the county Bridge Inspector. This position designs, plans, oversees, and inspects various roadway and bridge construction and repair projects.

Qualifications and Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Four years working under the supervision of a Registered Professional Engineer.
  • Registered Professional Engineer in the State of Alabama.
  • Valid Driver's License.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • None.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is performed in equal amounts inside and outside. Subject to extreme weather conditions when working outdoors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is light consisting of walking, lifting objects weighing 20 - 50 pounds, and climbing.
