Purpose of Position:
The purpose of the position is to perform independent field inspections, conduct field materials sampling and testing and assure the quality of materials to provide a safe, quality and cost effective transportation system. Position will manually and electronically document work activities and process project documents as well as verify documentation for completeness and to ensure all contractual guidelines and/or special provisions are met. This position is with Construction Crew 4318.

This position is a Pay Band 60.

Classification Description:

Civil Engineering Technicians-NL-Advanced

Minimum Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of related work experience to include materials testing, construction inspection, highway construction, highway maintenance, surveying, drafting, highway design, ability to read plans/contracts, and equipment usage.
Employment Requirements:
Must possess and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver's License. Employment requires successful completion of post offer pre-employment physical exam and is conditional pending results. Reference check and driver's license verification are required and employment is conditional pending results. TTCP Certification may be required.

Statutory Requirements:
This is a non-licensed occupation. May require Technician Training Certification Program (TTCP) certificates within one year of hire. A post-offer physical is required for this position.
