TITLE: Class C Driver- San Francisco

JOB SUMMARY: (the purpose of the role)
The Class C Driver is responsible for the collection and delivery of donations for Goodwill’s retail and environmental business operations. The driver will maintain a safe, professional attitude and appearance while following assigned routes and interacting with residential and business customers. The Class C Driver reports to Assistant Transportation Manager.

Able to operate a Box Truck in a safe and efficient manner for extended periods of time per day
Must be able to learn and follow predetermined routes.
Be familiar with and have applicable knowledge of DOT and State driving regulations.
Be familiar with and have applicable knowledge of the California Vehicle Code as it pertains to the operation of a Box Truck.
Ensure compliance with all company policies, as well as all Federal, State and Local OSHA
Ensure a pleasant donation experience for the donor while collecting donations.
Inspect vehicle and equipment pre and post trip.
Ensure compliance with all transportation and safety regulations
Report on-the-job injuries and accidents immediately
Able to work night and weekend hours
Able to assist in the unloading and loading of trucks and trailers
Other duties as assigned.
Adhere to all safety standards and inform management of safety, environmental and mechanical concerns
Manage all loads utilizing chains or other equipment as required for delivery.
Come to work neat and clean in appearance and wear GW issued uniform in a professional manner
Follow assigned routes according to schedule
Complete all needed paperwork related to inventory and invoicing
Develop and maintain contact with transportation management and work on all shifts.
Coordinate with warehouse, docks and retail staff and assist to unload and load all goods and materials
Ability to Drive and Operate End Dump and Roll Off Truck, tractor trailer combination and bobtail trucks with life gates
Maintain records of all truck delivery
Prepare and maintain all driving logs
Report all accidents and traffic violations
Operate vehicle in a safe and professional manner.
Complete and perform and record pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections and other required paperwork
Perform other duties as assigned.
Wear Goodwill issued uniform in a professional manner
Participate in mandatory testing for drugs and/or alcohol on a random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up basis.
Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS: (education, work experience, and technical competencies)
Possession of valid class C CA Driver License with a clean record.
Minimum 2 years commercial driving experience.
Must possess a valid medical card.
Must have a current MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) that has no citation convictions (other than parking) for the previous 5 years.
Good interpersonal skills and sound character.
Able to read map and interpret instructions.
Able to act quickly and correctly in various traffic situations.
Ability to read and interpret documents.
Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than one’s own, able to work effectively with all.
