Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical and administrative support to the Programs Registration – Temporary department
  • Assist 1199SEIU members with childcare registration applications and program selection
  • Perform data entry of member and program information
  • Advise members of 1199SEIU Child Care Fund services and programs; clearly interpret eligibility and application guidelines
  • Maintain accurate files, records and confidentiality
  • Perform special projects and assignments as directed by management
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required, some College or Degree preferred
  • Minimum two (2) years clerical experience in a general office environment required; customer service experience a plus
  • Accurate data entry skills with 6,000kph and 6% or less error rate highly preferred
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel a plus
  • Excellent customer service skills a must; able to maintain a pleasant attitude while providing professional services to members
  • Superb interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Bilingual a plus (Spanish, Creole, French, Mandarin)
  • Able to work flexible hours including evenings and Saturdays required
  • Able to travel locally to various locations required (NYC metropolitan area and Hicksville, Long Island)
  • Must meet performance standards including attendance and punctuality
* Note - Must be available to work on Temporary basis from August - November 2013 (Full-time and Part-time positions available)
