The position is located at the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF), Barking Sands in Kauai. The position requires U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Clearance (Secret) .

Under limited supervision, this bargaining unit position, Clerk in the Transportation Department will perform a variety of clerical tasks associated with the work and section assigned.

MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
Serve as primary clerical support for independently processing departmental requirements.

Perform research and provide information regarding documentation and related activities..

Perform administrative tasks for assigned area to include tping, filing, answering of incoming phone calls and assisting the section in completing tasks.

Prepare reports to support office and annex requirements.

Assist in conducting inventories, audits, developing reports and data processing.

Operate reproduction equipment required for distribution of PMRF record drawings, engineering drawings, specifications and other requests.

Maintain a neat and professional work area.

Fill in for clerical positions/duties in other PWdepartments as needed.

Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

CLERICAL SECTION: Transportation

Other duties may include but are not limited to the following, depending on departmental and annex requirements:

Track contract deliverables (CDRLs) and ensure they are accurate, current, posted to PRISMS and submitted to the customer when required.

Answer Transportation desk telephone and ecord trouble calls or other requests for service, immediately assign work orders, and log work order into Maximo database.

Report trouble calls to trades personnel.

Close out work orders in the Maximo database.

Maintain the Service Call Log Books.

Print and distribute Preventive Maintenance (PM) work order reports.

Generate Corrective Maintenance (CM) work order numbers based on reported discrepancies noted on the PM work order report.

Assist supervisor with Weekly Work Plan.

Maintain operator files including CDL, physicals, training for weight and material handling equipment.

Upkeep and maintain the Service Repair Order files for all vehicles and equipment. File completed SRO into vehicle jackets.

Dispatch vehicles for operational support. Check to see that all drivers hav a valid license to operate company and government vehicles. Assures Vehicle Checklist and Drivers Inspection Report (SS Form 149) is filled out prior to issuing vehicle to operator.

Post date, user destination and return information on vehicle usage board for loaned vehicles.

Prepare and issue new vehicle trip tickets each month for all vehicles and equipment.

Maintain utilization records for all vehicles and equipment.

Maintain vehicle and equipment usage records including mileage and fuel.

Prepare and maintain other transportation files in the system database.

Coordinate Licensing Program for the various equipment and vehicle requirements and maintain the licensing program records for Construction, Aerial and Material equipment types.

Maintain files on all CDL and Type 4 operators to insure they are in compliance with State and Federal requirements.

Schedule classes for the Driver Improvement Program and Material Handling Equipment Programs.

Maintain records for all operator-training classes.

W MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
High School or equivalent

Experience:
Four (4) years of general office experience.

Must have the basic keyboarding skills and aptitude for neatness and accuracy in sorting. Must be proficient in operating a calculator, personal computers, computer software and standard office equipment.

Must have strong people and communication skills.

Able to type 40-50 words per minute.

Must posses the following PC skills:
MICROSOFT OFFICE: Word, Outlook, Excel, Windows and Access.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: Applicants selected will be subject to Government Security investigation and must meet eligibilty requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance for access to classified information Closed/Restricted Areas.
