3) Any Full-time Temporary Clerk Stenographer 2 or Clerk Typist 2 employee of an opportunity to submit a bid for a Regular Clerk Typist 2 position with partial benefits; or
4) Any applicant of a Clerk Typist 2 vacancy.
This clerical position provides support to the Health & Physical Education Department. Responsibilities include serving as receptionist for the department; answering and taking telephone messages; responding to inquiries verbally or in written correspondence; serving as payroll approver for all student workers in department; maintaining student employment records; working with graduate coordinators in M.S. and M.Ed. programs, processing paperwork for admissions and graduation; maintaining graduate files and distribution lists; processing forms; typing letters, e-mails, reports and other documents; preparing and signing routine memos for faculty members; preparing purchase requisitions and work orders; assisting in scheduling meetings; maintaining chairperson calendar; assisting in training and supervising student workers; processing mail; coordinating departmental functions; and performing other duties as required. Salary is $13.88 per hour, plus partial benefits.
Must possess computer skills; keyboarding skills; note-taking skills; communication skills, both written and verbal; proofreading and spelling skills; organizational skills; and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office is strongly preferred. Candidates must communicate effectively and perform well in the interview(s).
Six months as a Clerk Typist 1 or any equivalent combination of experience and training is required. Applicants must successfully complete the university typing test.
