8 or 12 hour shifts based on unit needs and meeting times

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Associate Nursing Degree required
- Current unencumbered California Registered Nurse licensure
- Current ACLS, CPR and NRP certifications
- Two years of recent PACU or ICU experience
- Computer skills
- Superb interpersonal skills
- Women's Health/OB experience
- BSN preferred
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: functions as a clinical resource, conducting annual performance evaluations, monitoring completion of employees annual requirements, coaching of any employee, reviewing/approving timecards, hiring of new employees, and coordination of new hire orientation. Collaborates with the Director and unit leadership to ensure implementation of department operational goals and those of the hospital, including Baby Friendly certification, COEMIG, Magnet and Planetree designations. Clients include patient/family, nursing staff, physicians and the organization.
The unit consists of 16 bed recovery room and 3 bed nursery. Recovering OB, GYN and Plastic surgery cases and also caring for newborns during the first 2 hours of life.
To provide recovery services post-surgery for the mother and newborn. Sharp Mary Birch Hospital for Women and Newborns provides a full range of medical and surgical services including robotic gynecologic surgery and oncology.
