The School of Education at the College of William and Mary seeks an innovative, experienced, and entrepreneurial leader to serve as the Clinical Associate Professor/Professor - Executive Ed.D. Program Director. The Executive Ed.D. in K-12 Administration offers an alternative to the traditional delivery model for the doctorate degree without sacrificing the quality education historically associated with The College of William and Mary. Courses are taught through a combination of regular School of Education and carefully selected adjunct faculty members in a format designed to meet the needs of working practitioners. Designed for educators with MasterĂ¢??s Degrees and currently in administrative roles, this format allows students to earn their Ed.D. degree in two and a half years. The program includes two years of coursework, delivered in summer sessions, weekends, and distance formats, as well as applied dissertation research, portions of which are developed throughout the program. Fall and spring courses utilize both the Williamsburg and Washington, D.C. campuses, and include online or distance modules for each course. The Clinical Associate Professor/Clinical Professor - Executive Ed.D. Program Director is a multi-year renewable contract (non-tenure eligible), 9-month faculty appointment with summer teaching and administrative responsibilities. The Director is responsible for the leadership and administration of the Executive Ed.D. program, including oversight of the academic program, recruitment and retention of students, advising, course scheduling, faculty assignments, and budget. These functions are performed in collaboration with the Associate Dean of Academic Programs. The position will require teaching graduate courses in educational leadership, and advising and directing the research of Executive Ed.D. and Ph.D. students. The Executive Director will represent William & Mary in professional associations, such as the Carnegie Project on the Education Doctorate (CPED), and with state organizations associated with school leaders (e.g. Virginia Professors of Educational Leadership and the Virginia Association of School Superintendents). This person will be expected to contribute to School of Education outreach efforts (e.g., collaborate with the School-University Research Network), as well as to participate actively in school governance.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold an earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in educational administration, educational leadership, or a related area; will have significant PK-12 administrative experience at the building and/or executive levels; and will have demonstrated experience in directing programs.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include successful experience in teaching graduate-level courses and in inter-agency and collaborative educational partnerships.
