The Clinical Direct Care Worker provides direct services to consumers and plays an essential role in assisting a person with developmental disabilities or mental retardation (i.e., consumer) to strive for the highest quality of life possible.


High School Diploma/Equivalency. A clean valid NYS Driver’s License; experience with developmentally disabled population preferred.

Principal Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct community integration activities with consumers.
  • Encourage use of active treatment as opposed to custodial care during the supervision of meal preparation, house cleaning, food/personal shopping, budgeting, banking, etc.
  • Administer, and document the administration of medication correctly.
  • Participate in general staff meeting, in-service training, annual/semi-annual reviews as scheduled.
  • Maintain a level of professionalism.
  • Follow written methodologies and behavior interventions and rehabilitation plans.
