The Clinical Information Systems Analyst has a deep understanding of clinical information systems and has the ability to analyze and understand business problems in order to make solution recommendations to meet the organizations goals of maintaining clinical and business systems dedicated to providing a secure, effective, integrated patient care delivery system that continually improves outcomes, reduces costs, increases efficiency and enhances patients’ experiences. Primary responsibilities include collaborating with clinicians and end users of the system to design, build, test, train, implement, evaluate, and provide maintenance of Cerner Millennium PowerChart and Clinical Documentation applications.
The Clinical Information Systems Analyst must have the capability to utilize the knowledge and skills of clinical practice, computer science, and information technology to manage data and determine clinical functions that are suitable to build to ensure alignment with professional standards of clinical practice. They are responsible for coordinating with physicians and end users in the analysis and documentation of clinical workflows, performing gap analysis, identifying needed process changes, and developing future workflows related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality. The ability to communicate with all levels of Hospital leadership, clinicians, physicians, and ancillary department staff and is essential for this position.
Applicants with 3+ years of proven Cerner experience with a mix of implementation and/or build experience will be eligible for a $5,000.00 sign-on bonus paid after 90 days of employment with AHS IS. Only applicants hired directly are eligible for the bonus. Candidates that are placed by an outside recruiting vendor do not qualify.
Serves as an active member of the AHS-IS Clinical Information Systems Team, dedicated to the development of electronic solutions for documentation that fit clinical workflow and practices and are aligned with current best practice standards.
Collaborates with Physicians, Clinicians, and end users Hospital Leadership, vendor and other AHS-IS teams to develop and deploy electronic applications or new functionality.
Performs assessment of clinical workflow processes, identifying gaps, identify needed process changes, and developing future workflows related to the implementation of new solutions or functionality.
Ability to make recommendations, develop design, build, and test clinical application components and make necessary changes using build tools provided by vendor
Develops system design documentation and outline build steps using appropriate tools and maintains with ongoing system changes.
Provide ongoing support including resolution of system issues, root cause analysis of problems, planning and testing of system upgrades, and development of enhancements to meet the changing business needs of our clients and healthcare environment.
Gathers and analyzes information skillfully, troubleshoot, and resolves problems in early stages.
Ability to seek guidance and escalate issues to manager when necessary
Ability to proactively take initiative for self-learning activities to complete Cerner Net track within specified time frame.

Bachelors of Science in Healthcare related field; Registered Nurse preferred or
College Degree (B.A, B.S. or similar) in a field of study such as business, IT, or related area
Knowledge and Experience
Clinical System build experience (Preferred)
Clinical System Implementation experience (Preferred)
Experience in problem analysis and testing with an emphasis in healthcare and/or business applications. (Preferred)
Knowledge in Healthcare Operations, Information Technology, Clinical Operations, Nursing Workflow, Physician Workflow,, Medical Information, and/or Cerner (Preferred)
Background in Cerner application build or experience with other healthcare EHR vendor (Preferred)
Knowledge of Internet, Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio, Windows, and SharePoint
