The Clinical Manager assumes first line leadership responsibility and accountability for managing the delivery of patient care on an assigned shift. Facilitates efficient and cost effective daily operations of the unit(s) in relation to patient throughput including admissions, discharges and transfers. Promotes a culture of safety and quality by ensuring continuity and consistency in the implementation of established standards, protocols, policies and procedures. In collaboration with the Patient Care Director, participates in the establishment of unit(s) short and long term goals and ensures its alignment with the hospital’s overall strategic goals. Is accountable for monitoring staff compliance with regulatory, hospital and divisional requirements.
A BSN is required. Current New York State registration to practice nursing is required. Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience is required. Demonstrated leadership competencies required. Clinical expertise within field or specialty required. Knowledge of current health care environment is required. Demonstrates understanding of customer service principles is required. Demonstrates effective interpersonal communication skills required. Demonstrated leadership skills is required. Ability to use computer applications required. Knowledge of performance improvement principles is required.
