Shift for Flex: Hours available vary and are between 5 PM - 01 AM Monday -Friday and 8 hour day/evening rotating shifts on the weekends
The Pediatric Call Center at The Children's Hospital, Denver, Colorado includes three unique services: The After Hours Telephone Care Program, The ParentSmart!Healthline, and The One Call program. The After Hours Telephone Care Program provides telephone triage and advice by registered nurses to families with children between the ages of newborn and 21 years of age. The ParentSmart!Healthline, is a 24-hour a day 7 day/week community service provided without charge and offers clinical telephone triage, pediatric health care information, physician and service referrals by registered nurses; referrals are made to services and physicians in the community and at The Children's Hospital, Denver, Colorado. The One Call program has the role of being the community healthcare provider's point of entry to the hospital and its network of care. One Call coordinates specialist consultations and is a major source of information for external community physicians as well as internal TCH medical staff. They also facilitate communication from TCH providers to the community as well.
Exciting, fast paced nursing role providing support to Community Physicians through After Hour Telephone Triage care for children from birth to 21 years. Strong keyboard skills required, must be competent with Windows based programs. Outstanding assessment, and teaching skills required. This is an independent role that requires excellent nursing judgment and critical thinking skills. Potential to work a percentage of shifts from home after successful completion of orientation and one year in the department. Must be available for holidays and weekend shifts. Must have access to high speed internet in your home.
Experience: 3-5 years current pediatric nursing experience preferred. Pediatric General Inpatient, PICU, and Emergency Room preferred. Previous telephone triage experience helpful but not required.
General Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year clinical experience required. Pediatric or subspecialty experience preferred. Basic computer skills required. Excellent customer service and communication skills with hospital/clinic staff, children, parents and visitors. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Demonstrated ability to prioritize and organize tasks in a fast paced setting. Excellent written and verbal communication. Ability to work independently and as a team member.
Required Education/Field of Study: Bachelor or higher in Nursing. New Graduate Nurse Residency graduation certificate must be presented for internal promotion from Children's Colorado CNI to CNII.
Required License/Certification - Advanced Life Support AND/OR other Certification(s) for specific roles may be required within 6 months of hire.
