The Clinical Pharmacist is responsible for development of clinical programs for the Express Scripts Pharmacy (front-end and fulfillment functions), HealthBridge pharmacy, CuraScript pharmacy, and additional home delivery pharmacy functions. Responsibilities include providing development, training, communication, and ongoing clinical decision support to the program. This position initiates and leads business facing opportunities in which risk has been identified from audit groups, audit relations, and/or pharmacy operations and pharmacy practice. The Clinical Pharmacist represents the department at appropriate organizational councils and report outs (up through senior staff).


Utilize pharmacist clinician skills to develop clinical quality monitoring programs for the pharmacies; including training, communication plans, and ongoing clinical decision support around the monitoring programs (this could include process, compliance based, or phone call clinical monitoring).

Develop root cause analysis, trending, and corrective action plans around the results of clinical monitoring to work with operational, compliance, and pharmacy practice partners to improve the performance and mitigate the risk of non-compliance.

Serve as a clinical reference for the team of quality analysts, quality inspectors, and quality representatives.

Research and prepare findings to support clinical monitoring of targeted compliance items due to regulatory or medication profile risks (i.e. REMs).

Drive pharmacy practice decisions through the use of clinical data to suggest best practice decisions on dispensing standards.

Support special project(s) or requests as deemed necessary for a clinical pharmacist and assigned by Director, Pharmacy Quality Monitoring or Sr. Director, Quality Monitoring and Audit Relations.


Pharm D Degree; Clinical Program Development or Monitoring Preferred

0-3 years relevant experience

Current Pharmacist License

Standard Microsoft Office set, advanced research skills

Knowledge of PBM industry preferred; Ability to analyze data and make recommendations, synthesize data and clinical information through research; Working knowledge of pharmacy practice issues and challenges
