Clinical Specialist - RN is a professional position responsible for performing and supporting quality nursing care by demonstrating an advanced level of nursing knowledge and proficiency. Responsibilities include the assessment and management of wound/ostomy care including teaching nurses and patients. Demonstrating expertise through direct patient care. Handling medical emergencies and difficult situations calmly and quickly. Communicating regularly and effectively with other disciplines and community programs. Implements a comprehensive infection control program by administering employee health components of infection control and consulting with staff regarding patients with known infection risks. Provides excellent home care, which may include but is not limited to the following procedures.

Graduation from an approved educational program for Nursing. BSN preferred, completion of a Master’s Degree in Nursing or health-related field a plus. Previous Homecare experience preferred. Must have an active Colorado RN license or a license from the state of primary residence, if participating in the NLC (Nurse Licensure Compact). Current CPR required. IV Certification preferred. Specialist certification in wounds/ostomy preferred; if not certified, then willing to obtain certification (CWOCN).
