JOB DESCRIPTION: Clinical Supervisor


ACCOUNTABILITY: Clinical Director


The Clinical Supervisor in the HOPE Program for Alameda /Contra Costa Counties is responsible for clinical services provided in public school settings. This involves the supervision of school-based therapists, in the delivery of a quality clinical program within a school-based mental health setting, including milieu therapy, individual therapy, and case management.

  • LCSW or MFT, licensed in California, plus three years of clinical experience
  • Clinical supervisory experience strongly preferred, but will consider professionals who possess minimum 2-4 years of prior experience in leadership or management capacity
  • Knowledge and experience in individual, group and family therapy methods
  • Experience working in school-based programs required
  • Knowledge of provider systems
  • Experience with at-risk and SED children highly desirable
  • Experience with Medi-CAL documents and requirements
  • Demonstrated awareness of, sensitivity to, and competence in dealing with cultural and socioeconomic diversity of client population
  • Valid California driver's license, a clear driving record, and personal vehicle insurance coverage
  • Must meet eligibility requirements to bill for Medi-Cal services
  • Hire, supervise, and evaluate assigned clinicians and interns
  • Participate in and directly observe clinical and case management delivery of services through regular and frequent interface with program staff
  • Ensure supervisor compliance with clinical and case management policies and procedures
  • Develop and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) processes for clinical and case management functions and services
  • Responsible for regular scheduled weekly individual and group supervision, clinical department meetings and treatment reviews
  • Responsible for ensuring that clinical and case management practices and policies are implemented within a parent friendly and partnership context.
  • Serve on program and Agency committees and task forces at the discretion of the Senior Director of School-Based Programs
  • Participate in intake process, assign intakes, and when necessary conduct intakes for school-based day treatment, if applicable
  • Coordinate and conduct external and internal utilization reviews related to chart compliance, quality and appropriateness of clinical and case management services
  • Represent Agency at public and assigned forums
  • Consult with assigned program psychiatrist, and where necessary, facilitate coordination of psychiatric activities with program staff
  • Design and implement a clinical training program for clinicians and interns
  • Develop protocols for service delivery and ensure uniformity across school sites
  • Instruct subordinates concerning all LCC safety policies, procedures, and rules, and enforce these within work group. Ensure that subordinates attend all required safety training sessions. Require immediate reporting of all workplace hazards, safety rule violations, near misses, and work-related injuries
  • Other duties as assigned
CLASSIFICATION: Regular, full-time, exempt, non-union, benefited position
