Comunilife provides supported scatter site housing for people with HIV/AIDS. This program provides clients with well-maintained individual apartments and a full range of care coordination and supportive services. Since 1994, we have created an outstanding track record. The vast majority of our residents remain in their apartments for as long as ten years, paying rent on time and in full. Many move on to paid employment.
We are looking for Clinical Supervisors to supervise, evaluate and train assigned staff (social workers, case managers, mental health counselors, substance abuse counselors, vocational counselor, entitlement specialist, recreation counselor, health educator, etc.) of the HRA HASA Scatter Site Housing Programs (Brooklyn/Queens and the Bronx). These positions coordinate delivery of social support services for clients. Clinical Supervisors also assist with intake process of new clients. Major responsibilities include administration and monitoring program services, and establishing linkages and relationships with community providers.
Knowledge and Skills
•Extensive knowledge of supervision principles and practices.
•Knowledge of HRA Scattered Site Program guidelines and OMH regulations.
•Responsible, organized, effective, and efficient.
•Ability to perform multiple assignments simultaneously.
•Excellent communication skills (writing, verbal and active listening).
•Community minded, patient, creative, flexible, compassionate, and culturally sensitive to persons who are diagnosed with severe and persistent mental illness.
•Ability to deal tactfully and diplomatically with other Comunilife employees, Federal, State, and City officials, professional and technical groups, clients, and the general public.
Masters in Social Work or Human Services
Licensed Masters in Social Work (LMSW) preferred
•At least two (2) to five (5) years supervisory experience.
•Individual, family and group counseling experience required, particularly with HIV/AIDS affected populations and/or substance abuse individuals.
•HIV/AIDS pre-test and post-test certificates.
•Preference given to persons with experience in scattered site programs, bi-lingual, bi-cultural in Spanish.
