Position Summary:
The co-op process operator will learn how to operate equipment to safely produce chemical products according to specified operating procedures. Co-op Operators work a 12-hour rotating shift (6 am - 6 pm & 6 pm - 6 am).

Education, Experience and Skills Required:
High school graduate or GED equivalent

Must have completed or be completing a 2-year associate degree in Process Technology at a university with an accredited Process Technology Program by the end of semester ending Summer 2013

Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future

Must have a valid and current government issued drivers license

Applicants will be tested for ACT WorkKeys® and must score at the required levels on 2 WorkKeys® tests (Locating Information and Applied Technology

Physical Requirement (with or without reasonable accommodation) and Working Conditions:

Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl

Required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs

Specific vision abilities required include close vision

Physically capable of spending long hours standing

Required to work in chemical-protected clothing and equipment

Required to climb stairs and ladders, including vertical

Required to work a 12-hour rotating shift

Required to work overtime as required by the business

Required to perform some tasks inside a confined space with breathing air and wearing an acid suit

Amount of physical work increases considerably during shutdowns and emergency situations
