In todays industry, the development of ATE test patterns used during manufacturing IC test, can be a tedious and cumbersome process for test engineers.
This project will involve the definition and development of an automation tool to assist in ATE pattern development.
The individual will require a solid knowledge in Visual Basic programming. This tool will focus specifically on ATE pattern sets that include I2C commands. The I2C protocol involves a 2 wire serial interface, which is becoming a common interface found on most IC’s today.
This tool will convert the high level I2C command sets, written by the test programmer, into the format required by the ATE test system.
There will be a follow-on project to build a Resource Management Tool within Excel. This tool will be used by management to assist in headcount resource planning across multiple projects.
The ATE tool is expected to drastically reduce pattern development time by more than 50%. Once completed, this tool will be a powerful and valuable asset within Fairchild Semiconductor.
Solid experience programming and compiling in Visual Basic
Experience with Excel, and writing VB macros within Excel
Ability to independently solve problems
Should be a sophomore or junior in an accredited EE, CE or equivalent curriculum
