The Commodity Manager/ Buyer is responsible for commodity management, strategic sourcing (U.S. & International), and tactical purchasing activities. The candidate is someone with exceptional sourcing capabilities for machined & sheet metal fabrication, plastic molding, PCBA's, and other components needed for complex electro-mechanical assemblies. The candidate must have a proven track record of delivering cost & lead-time reduction along with supply base rationalization.
Conducts strategic sourcing for machined & sheet metal fabrication, plastic molding, PCBA's, and other components needed for complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
Monitors U.S. & International business and economic situations that may affect the company's ability to deliver goods at their optimum price, quality, and delivery.
Performs market research in their assigned commodities as a prerequisite to developing and implementing strategic and tactical activities.
Negotiates agreements to ensure the delivery of goods at their optimum price, quality, and service in accordance with company defined practices.
Monitors supplier performance and recommends and facilitates corrective action for recurring quality or delivery problems. Leads supplier business reviews and overall supplier performance management activities.
Issues purchase orders with clear engineering specifications. Considers product usage, and inventory carrying cost in order to execute the lowest effective cost quantities.
Conducts value analyses, cost/price analyses, and make or buy decisions. Validates cost estimates included with purchasing requisitions where applicable.
Ensures receipt of correct quantity and quality of product from suppliers. Resolves any discrepancies.

Advanced Microsoft Office skills
Comprehensive MRP knowledge, M2M knowledge a plus
A four-year degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience in a commodity management, senior buyer/planner, or similar role(s) in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
APICS CPIM Certification and experience with lean manufacturing is preferred.
