The Internal Communications Project Manager will be responsible for implementing the corporate project-based aspects of the Internal Communications function at CFG to support and advance the business objectives of the organization.

Provide logistical and strategic support for corporate-wide projects and initiatives under the supervision of the Director of Internal Communications.

Deliver delegated tasks and coordinate various aspects of the daily workings of the Internal, Digital and Executive Communications team.

Serve as liaison to business line communicators.

Represent department on mid-level corporate initiatives, such as financial results announcements, feedback, workouts, corporate-wide initiatives and colleague engagement programs. Build and maintain effective working relationships across all functions, including CFG, RBS Americas, GBM Americas and RBS, when appropriate.

Ensure successful development and delivery of a variety of internal communications programs, projects and initiatives, including fact sheets for internal and external customers; timely updates on corporate objectives; and provide support in preparation and development of presentations made by Head of Internal, Digital and Executive Communications.

Research and gather relevant content to build presentations based on strong working knowledge of key priorities and initiatives currently underway. Initiate and/or follow processes that allow for feedback and continuous improvement of all project-based internal communications activities, channels and approaches. Special projects as assigned in support of communications initiatives.

Ensure internal communications projects are delivered on time and within budget.


Bachelor’s degree or masters, preferably in journalism, communications or English

7+ years experienced writer and project manager with a track record of delivering internal communications programs and initiatives

7+ years experience working in a large organization, including interaction with senior management

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint and Excel

Strong understanding of the business and the impact of internal communications to business lines

Ability to build consensus and work collaboratively across business lines

A demonstrated understanding of business strategy, planning and priorities

Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment and manage multiple assignments simultaneously

Ability to understand and conceptualize specific ideas and theories

Ability to understand the big picture, quickly assess issues, and determine a course of action in collaboration with others

Willingness to proactively and independently address and complete tasks
